About Catherine Jacobson

Death "printout" says Catherine Delaney was born at Geelong, Victoria.

There is a birth record "Birth: Vic, Australia, 4 Oct 1852, reg number 7267", to parents William & Mary Delaney, but corresponding 25th Oct baptism is in Melbourne, not Geelong - likely this record is for a different Catherine Delaney whom married Joseph Hobson in Melbourne in 1875.

Married at Brighton, age 16, according to death "printout". This is probably Brighton (that no longer exists) on the South Island west coast, not Dunedin. Official marriage record has not been found.

Evening Post, 21 Aug 1920: JACOBSON,- At her daughter's residence, 7 McKenzie-terrace, Catherine, widow of the late Hans Jacobson, of Reefton, West Coast; aged 79 years. At peace.

BDM says age 70 at death. Age 79 is crossed out.
