Obituary - Ottawa Journal June 23, 1934 - pg 9:

Sympathy will be extended to one of the best-known families of the Glebe district in the death yesterday at her residence, 9 Regent Avenue, of Mrs. Nicholas Nevins, mother of Rev. Father Wilfred Nevins. curale of St. George's church, Ottawa West. Mrs. Nevins had been in ill health for some time. Her death will be widely mourned in the Ottawa district, of which she was a lifelong resident. Formerly Miss Catherine Egan, she was born 72 years ago at Chelsea. Que. In 1892 she married Nicholas Nevins, who predeceased her by a year. Mrs. Nevins had been a resident of Ottawa for the past 20 years and for more than 18 years had been a devout member of Blessed Sacrament parish. She was also a member of the Tabernacle Society and of the League of the Sacred Heart. Of a particularly lovable disposition, she was fond of Some lite with her large family. She was the last of the Egan family. Mrs. Nevins is survived by five sons: Joseph M. Nevins, Ottawa; Francis Nevins, Montreal; Lawrence E. Nevins, Ottawa: J. Emmett Nevins, Ottawa, and Rev. Father Wilfred Nevins; as well as three daughters. Miss Katie C Nevins. ot the staff of the Dominion Observatory; Miss Florence Nevins, Registered Nurse, and Miss Annie Nevins. At home. Five grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held from her late residence, 9 Regent avenue, at 6.48 o'clock on Monday morning, for solemn requiem high mass at Blessed Sacrament church at nine o'clock. Interment will be in Notre Dame cemetery.
