About Catherine Kleckner
My mother always said she was the best cook she had ever seen. She baked amazing pies and kept 7 sweets and 7 sours on the table at all times (jams, jellies, pickles, etc.). She was superstitious and lied about the age of her son Walter because she had been told by doctors that he would die young due to a heart condition. I believe he was 26 when he died. When my father was stricken with polio at age 2, doctors said he would never walk. She worked with him every day and was determined that he would walk. He did due to her determination!
