Question: "Were those cases that proceeded from transportation of persons, convicted of serious crimes?"
Answer: "Both for political opinions. One, a woman named Catherine McDonald who had been in the Insurrections in Ireland, another named John Gwen, who had been a poor schoolmaster in Ireland."
