1905 August 7 - cousin 'Young Father Tom McLoughlin' (visiting from the USA) wrote that "On Sunday ...we took a train about 11 for Midleton "(a town east of Cork) .

"The O'Regan jaunting car met us at the station and we were driven five miles over beautiful country roads to Ballytrasna, a splendid country house in the centre of a farm of 400 acres. It was a treat to visit such a well kept, well furnished and prosperous looking farmer's home."

"We were met at the door by Mrs. O'Regan, a splendidly preserved woman......(also) Annie, her sister Kathleen and the brother John, a fine specimen of a gentleman farmer."
