: A FATAL ACCIDENT occurred at Kalatine,.on the 31st"inst. From evidence taken at the inquest-held on the follo- wing day by Mr. John- Ducat, coroner, it appears that James, son of Mr. George Pigott, went into the bush near their residence to fell a tree for a ' bees' nest, in company with his sister Catherine, who remained a short distance from the tree. Before the tree fell, James told his sister to go farther down the hill; instead of doing so, she ran up the hill, and the tree fell upon her, killing her instantaneously. The jury returned a verdict that the deceased died from injuries accidentally received.

Australian Town and Country Journal (Sydney, NSW : 1870 - 1907), Saturday 26 February 1887, page 16
