Her birth [1847] and death dates were taken from Die Herzoger, which lists her parents as Peter Riedel and Magdalena Kuhn. The 1857 Herzog census lists a Peter Riedel (1824- ) and Magdalena Kuhn (1828- ) with a daughter Katharina 5 years old. So she may have been born as late 1852.
Immigrated to the US on the SS Columbia arriving New York, NY on 18 Jun 1892. Her age is listed 39 yrs, suggesting 1853 as the birth year.
She is listed in the St. Fidelis church death records as having died on Dec 12, 1893 and buried the next day. So most likely, she would have been buried in the church cemetery. However, no stone has been found.
Peter and the children moved to St. Peter, KS by the 1895 Kansas census. Their eldest daughter Mary (1871-1952) married John Brungardt in Russia in about 1889. They came to the US in 1890/1891 and were also early founders of the St. Peter, KS community.
