Observer News Enterprise, The (Newton, NC) - Tuesday, November 22, 2011 Deceased Name: Cecil Heavner Cecil Joe Heavner, 76, of East Maiden Road, Maiden, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at his son's residence with Catawba County Hospice of Newton. Born May 22, 1935 in Catawba County, he was the son of the late James Amos Heavner and the late Nannie Carpenter Heavner. Heavner was a veteran of the U. S. Army. In addition to his parents, five brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Cecil Joe Heavner, Jr. of Hickory; six sisters; and three brothers The funeral service will be Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel in Maiden, with the Rev. Steve Sigmon officiating.
