About Cecil Arthur Hobson
Cecil Arthur Hobson, radio officer, was on board the British merchant ship Myrmidon which was torpedoed and sunk by a U-boat off the west coast of Africa in 1942. The ship was in a convoy and all crew members and passengers survived. He moved to Essex in 1949 and lived in that area until he died. He spent all of his remaining working life in connection with shipping including work as a naval architect and marine consultant.
