The Wellington Leader January 2, 1964
Cecil Terry, the son of the late Mrs. Nettie Terry, passed away about 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 at the Veterans Hospital in Long Beach, Calif., after an extended illness. He was laid to rest beside his brother, Paul, who preceded him in death in 1958.
Cecil Terry was born January 18, 1923 to Henry Clay and Nettie Goodwin Terry in Erick, Okla. At a very early age, he and his family moved to Wellington where he attended the public schools. In 1942 he moved to California where he maintained his residence until his death. From 1944 to 1946 he served with the United States Army, spending most of the time with the Army of Occupation in Japan.
He is survived by a son, Phillip, and a daughter, Linda, of California, and these brothers and sisters: Raymond, Charlie and Harvey Terry of Wellington; George Terry of McLean; Archie Terry of Illinois; Cleddie Terry of Los Angeles; Mrs. Dollie Schaffer of Dallas; Mrs. Ruby McNeill of Fairfield, Calif.; Mrs. Bill Chester of Torrance, Calif.; Mrs. Ruth Cole of Ellenwood, Ga.; and Mrs. Jessie Hubbard and Mrs. Mary Cousins of Amarillo.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Mar 7 2022, 18:24:48 UTC
