About Chanel du Toit
Chanel du Toit (1982 – 2010)
Brief overview:
Chanel (28) was found naked, strangle to death around 08h00 on the morning of 7th July 2010. Her husbands, Johan, mother, who lives on the same wine estate, found her body. According to police sources, not before putting up a fight. She was found in the main bedroom, which was in disarray. Forensics found skin, presumably from her attacker under her nails.
Johan was an assistant farm manager of Wine Estate Bien Donné, and Chanel worked as administrative chief. He was accused of her murder in 2010, but even by 2017, her murder remained unsolved.
Johan’s attorney, William Booth, together with forensic expert, David Klatzow, did everything in their power to discredit the findings of the state pathologist, Dr Deidré Abrahams, as to Chanel’s time of death. A report in 2017 states that the courts refuse to drop the charges against him.
