

We still need confirmation that this George Channing is in fact our Susan Channing's father. We have no record of her birth or marriage that would show her parents names, only her death certificate.
It is said that Susan Channing was the daughter of an immigrant, but as no record of her birth can be found we are not sure if she was born in NZ, Australia or in the UK. There is a Mason called George Channing from Heavitree Devon who , along with his family, arrived in Adelaide Australia aboard the Somersetshire in 1839. One of his daughters is listed as a Susan.
