Notes from his daughter, Kathleen -- Charles Arthur C.A. Browning was a typical Browning...tall 6'2"...and slender until he reachec 50 then he became overweight. He died in 1958 as a result of arteriosclerosis. He was considered the neighborhood bachelor since he didn't marry until he was 29 years old. As a young man he worked for the Kansas City Southern RR quarrying rock...later helped build pillars across Elk River. He was a farmer at heart, he bought stock while working...he raised and broke mule and raised cattle, and hogs. In 1925 he and 2 surveyors decided to explore a cave just above the spring. In 1927 he finally leased the land to a fellow who was supposed to be a Cave Man. The lease had to be terminated 3 years later due to the fellows disregard for safety measures. "Bluff Dwellers Cafe" has since been operated by Charles Arthur & his family".
