Charles Cameron

MR. CHARLES CAMERON, 81 YEARS

The death occurred on Thursday at a private hospital at Mosman, of Mr. Charles Cameron, at the age. of 81. Born at Kiama, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cameron, he attended the Kiama School, the contemporary of. Sir George Fuller, Sir William Cullen, and Sir Joseph Carruthers. The :late Mr. .Cameron was an extensive landowner in this district, controlling much property in the Bomba area, some of which was leased 'by him, and later sold, for quarrying purposes. For a number of years he was an alderman of the Kiama Coufcil, and although he retired some -25 years ago and went to reside in Sydney, he retained much of his interest in his old home district, The late Mr. Cameron married Miss Margaret Jane King, daughter of the late Alex King, and sister of Lady' Fuller. Mrs. Cameron predeceased him some years ago, as did one son- (Keith) and a' daughter (Marjorie). Surviving are one daughter, Edith (Mrs. C. Trebeck, Sydney), and three sons, Norman (Orange), and Bruce and Ewen, both members of. the defence forces, The funeral t'ook place yesterday (F'lday) ' at the Northern Suburbs Crematorium.
