Charles Henry Coon was born in Walworth, Wis., March 13, 1853, and died at his home in Battle Creek, Mich., October 5, 1938.
He was married to Rebecca Smith, April 25, 1875, who preceded him in death, October 17, 1892. He leaves an only daughter, Ruby, (Mrs. Emile) Babcock.
Though reared in a sturdy religious atmosphere he did not become openly a Christian till middle life. For many years he has been a faithful member of the Battle Creek Seventh Day Baptist Church.
Funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Edward M. Holston. The remains were taken to Walworth, where further services were conducted by President Jay. W. Crofoot of Milton College, and interment was made in the Walworth Cemetery.
