The home Charles built just outside the present Johnson City, TN is still standing and marked as a pioneer homestead. His will stated all his land and profits from sawmill to go to his sons.
He was born in Rowan Co, NC, married Luranah in Surry Co., NC. His will was dated 7/1818, Washington Co., TN. Per "History of MIddle New River Settlements & Contiguous Territory", by Johntson, 1906, pp 84/85, states that Charles moved from Fauquier Co., VA to Stokes Co., NC, then to New River Valley (Holstein River area).
Charles' inventory was filed 08/09/1828, Washington Co., TN, inventory book 1, pp. 64-69, which indicates Luranah might have been deceased by then
