Charles Edwards June 12, 1935 - October 22, 2008

Charles “Chuck” A. Edwards, 73, of Johnson City, passed away on October 22, 2008. Born in Mitchell County, NC, he was the son of the late William B. and Sena Buchanan Edwards. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. Mr. Edwards proudly served his country in the United States Air Force where he received the rank of First Class Airman. He was employed by the Mountain Home VA Medical Center for over forty years where he retired as head technician from the cardiology department. Mr. Edwards was a past member of the American Cardiology Technologist Association and of the Washington County Beekeepers Association. Known as a loving husband, father and grandfather, he was a beekeeper and enjoyed gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby Jo Holland and Pearl “Pat” Hughes. He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Norma Edwards of Johnson City; son, Charles A. Edwards, II, of Knoxville; two grandchildren, Brenna Marie Edwards and Charles “Chad” A. Edwards, III and their mother, Laura; nieces and nephews, Paula Jo Bowman, Bill Hughes and Walker Holland. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Tetrick Funeral Services with Rev. TaeHun Yoon officiating and Dr. John Douglas, eulogist. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM prior to the service. It was Mr. Edwards wish to donate his body to Quillen College of Medicine.
