Charles Lovering One of Nature's Noblemen.

Assumption, Feb. 12— Charles Lovering, one of Assumption's most respected and loved citizens, died Sunday afternoon of pneumonia at the age of eighty-five years and eleven months. He had made his home in and around Assumption for the last thirty five years and was regarded as one of nature's genuine noblemen. Of commanding appearance, expressing gentility in every action, it was often said of him that he did not need to speak to prove his possession of the innate qualities of a real gentleman.

Mr. Lovering was a school teacher before he became a farmer, he was born in New Hampshire, where he spent the first fifty years of his life. He came to this county and became a farmer. He retired from farming a few years ago and moved into Assumption.

He is survived by his aged wife, with whom he celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary about two years ago. Two daughters and four grandchildren also survive. They are Mrs. Carrie Leavitt of New Hampshire, who was at her father's bedside when he died, and Miss Hattie Lovering, at home. Mr. Lovering had been in poor health for several months. About two weeks ago he contracted the grip and pneumonia followed. The funeral will be held Monday at the home, Rev. A. W. Andoreck of the Baptist church officiating. Interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
