DIED UNMARRIED Charles Grandison Pierce, son of Benjamin Pierce and Anna Kendrick, was b. in Hillsborough, New Hampshire in 1803. He died in Utica, Oneida, New York on June 15,1828.

" Charles Grandison Pierce, the third son, was born in Hillsboro in 1803 and named for the morally virtuous character of a popular English novel, Sir Charles Grandison, written by Samuel Richardson and published in 1753. Charles received an appointment to the United States military academy at West Point in 1818. He later moved to Utica, New York, where he died (unmarried) on June 25,1828."
