Charles Abraham Hite was born on February 4, 1879 in Tennessee, the son of William C Hite (1854-1931) and Amanda Ellen (Dudley) Hite (1858-1950). {William and Amanda were married on December 27, 1875, and although the Death Certificate for Charles has his name as Charles A Hite and his birth date as February 4, 1881, his World War I Draft Registration Card has him born on February 4, 1879. And, he was listed as 1 year old in the 1880 census.}

He was married to Sarah "Sallie" Jolley (1887–1969).

A farmer living on Caldwell Lane out of Nashville, Charles was 55 years old and married when he died at home on April 21, 1934 of acute dilatation of the heart. Burial was two days later in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville.
