DEATH OF MR. C. KERR
Mr. C. Y. Kerr, one of Maitland's most prominent and respected citizens, died at his home last week at the age of 68.
Mr. Kerr was managing director of Kern's Pty. Ltd., which was founded by his grandfather, Mr. James Kerr, in 1881.
He was active in the Rotary movement and the Crippled Children's Association, and was an elder of Scots' Church, Maitland.
He was president of Maitland branch of the Crippled Children's Association from its foundation in 1936 to the time of his death.
Mr. Kerr was president of Maitland Rotary Club between 1938 and 1939. At one time he was a member of Maitland Chamber of Commerce.
In his spare time he was a successful grower of dahlias,
Mr. Kerr was the son of the late Mr. Henry Kerr, a former managing director of Kerr's Pty. Ltd.
He is survived by his wife, two children, Stewart and Ruth, his brother, Mr. Robert Kerr (Maitland), and sisters Mrs. M. McLennon (Mullumbimby), and Mrs. W. A. Bowes (Woodville).
