About Charles M. Kleckner

Hazleton Plain Speaker; Thursday, July 19, 1928:
Charles M. Kleckner, aged 64 years, a motorman on the Lehigh Traction line for many years and recently employed as gate-tender at Hazle Park, died very suddenly at his home, 941 West First street at 6:10 o'clock last evening. Mr. Kleckner was stricken while on duty at the part about 4 o'clock and fellow employees there removed him to his home where medical aid was summoned but he failed to rally. He had been a resident of Hazleton all his life and was very well known in this region. He relinquished his post on the traction line when he suffered an attack of illness some time ago and later became an employee at Hazle Park. Mr. Kleckner was a member of Christ Memoiral Reformed church, of West Hazleton, the P.O.S. of A. of Audenried, and the Oneida Council, Jr. O.U.A.M.

Surviving is his widow and the following children: William Kleckner of McAdoo; Arthur and Irvin Kleckner, of Audenried; Mrs. Burt Roth, of this city; John and Emily at home. Mr. Kleckner is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. R. Brown, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Mrs. A. Wein, Philadelphia; Miss Hannah Kleckner, John, Joseph and William Kleckner, of Berwick; Oscar Kleckner, of Pittsburgh. Seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

The funeral will be held on Saturday afternoon with services at the family home at 2 o'clock. Rev. E. F. Faust, of Christ Memorial Reformed church will officiate and interment will be made in Mountain View cemetery.
