About Charles Kleinsteuber
The profile pic were the machine shop and engraving premises in Milwaukee, Wisconsin of Carl "Charles" F Kleinsteuber, born 1822 in Gotha, Germany.
In this building Christopher Sholes worked at inventing a "Type Writer" between 1867 and 1873. The Remington Arms Company was contracted to mass produce the machine starting in 1873. Mr Sholes responded to the issue of keys sticking together when typing quickly by changing the alphabetic arrangement of the keyboard to the QWERTY keyboard in 1878.... and we will likely be "stuck together" with QWERTY forever!
