About Charles Rufus Lyon
Toledo, June 8.--Funeral services will be held at the Toledo Odd Fellows Hall at 2 p.m. Friday for Charles R. Lyon, respected pioneer who had lived here the past forty-one years. He was 65 years of age and his death followed a long illness.
During his residence in Toledo, Mr. Lyon had served as town marshal, constable, and member of the school board. Mr. Lyon was married to Miss Lottie McEwen 37 years ago and his wife and nine children born to them were at his bedside when death came.
The children are six sons, Henry, Andrew, Eddie, Fred, and John Lyon of Toledo and Wendell of Onalaska; and three daughters, Mrs. Hattie Pierce, Misses Winnie and Esther Lyon all of San Francisco. William Lyon, a brother lives at Sunnyside, Washington. Rev. Charles E. Botts of Toledo Presbyterian Church will officiate at the funeral, which will be directed by L. R. Cattermole of Winlock.
