Charles Prentiss Martin

While living in Illinois, Charles worked on the railroad as a teenager. He was a good cook and was put to work feeding the crew. He was also in charge of a crew at one point. Charles and Marie moved to North Dakota and ran a farm. He also helped Marie run a restaurant in Arnegard, ND for a few years. He loved to read and would read out loud while Marie knitted or crocheted and Ruth listened in (source: Ruth Enstulen, Aug 2015)
