Charles Kenneth Reed, 74, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Kurtis Spidel, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery.
Mr. Reed, known as Kenney, CK or Chuckie, was born May 12, 1931, in Amarillo to Charles S. and Thelma Reed. Kenney married Barbara Faye Ditto on Feb. 12, 1954. They celebrated 51 years of marriage this year. Kenney served in the Army from 1951 to 1952. He worked at the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Amarillo from 1948 until 1966. He was employed at Pantex from 1966 until his retirement in 1997.
Survivors include his wife; a brother, Elden Reed of Amarillo; three daughters, Danita Hane and husband, Kyle, of Lincoln, Mont., Becky Abraham and husband, Mick, of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and Heidi Hulquist and husband, Robert, of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren, Amanda Wraith and Gennifer Curry, both of Montana, Alia Bailey, Michael, Daniel and Avonlea Abraham, all of Colorado, and Kathleen, Juli, Kit and Cheyenne Hulquist, all of Texas; and seven great-grandchildren.
