About Charles Rhodes
Charles and his wife, Betsy Ann Peters, were married in Johnstown, New York, and moved (with both Rhodes and Peters relatives) to Michigan about 1845. Her brother, Richard (Jr.) founded the town of Petersburg, Michigan. Charles is listed as "farmer" on the 1850 Caledonia Township census. September 1, 1857 Charles purchases 320 ac. recorded at the Genesee Land Office.
