SEAGRAVE, Charles A., Sr. Charles A. "CHUB", "CHARLIE" Seagrave, Sr., 79, passed away unexpectedly with his childhood sweetheart, friend and wife of 59 years, JoAnne Grant and family by his side on January 16, 2011 in Orlando Florida. Pre-deceased by his parents Florence and Reginald Seagrave of Slatersville, RI, and his wife's parents Edith and Frederick Grant of Uxbridge, MA. Chub was born and raised in Uxbridge, MA. He served four years in the United States Navy. Upon completing his term in the service he made his home in Enfield, CT. He was employed by Pratt & Whitney, while attending The University of Connecticut. He then went on to work for 34 years at the Connecticut Light & Power Company as an Engineering Specialist. He became a Mason in 1954, and was a member of the Salomon Lodge of Uxbridge MA, and then a loyal and devoted member of the Melha Shrine of Springfield, MA where he thoroughly enjoyed playing his saxophone for 37 years in the Military and German bands. After retiring, Chub enjoyed his winter home in Orlando, FL, and spending time with his loving family. Besides his loving wife, JoAnne, he is survived by his children, Charles and Jane of Marlborough CT, Christine and Scott Malecki-Dolloff of Enfield, CT, Robert of Somers, CT, Ellen and Gene Mesick of Enfield, CT, and Roberta of Enfield, CT; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Robert Jr., Charles III, Frederick, Stanley L., Sara, Will, Matt, and Jonathan; five great-grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings, Richard of Springfield, MO, Earl of Spokaine, WA, his twin brother Alan of Clermont, FL, Nancy of Worchester, MA and Ruby of Melbourne, FL. He will be truly missed by his loving family and his many dear friends. Memorial services will be at the convenience of his family.
