About Charles Stewart Parnell


Charles Stewart Parnell was born June 1846. He was the son of John Henry Parnell and Delia Tudor Stewart. He married Katherine Wood, daughter of Reverend Sir John Page 2nd Bt. and Emma Caroline Michell on 2 July 1891. He died on 6, Oct. 1895, at age 45, without issue. He was "the uncrowned king of Ireland ". He held the office of High Sherriff of County Wicklow in 1879. He was Leader of the Irish Parliamentary Party in 1874. He held the office of Member of Parliament (MP) for County Meath between 1875 and 1880. He was president of the Land League in 1879. He held the office of President, National Land League, until he was successfully cited as the co-respondent in a divorce suit. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Cork Between 1880 and 1891. He lived in Avondale County, Wicklow, Ireland. He was a celebrated Irish Nationalist.

Charles Stewart Parnell (27 June 1846 – 6 October 1891)

Irish landlord, nationalist political leader, land reform agitator, and the founder and leader of the Irish Parliamentary Party. He was one of the most important figures in 19th century Great Britain and Ireland, and was described by Prime Minister William Gladstone as the most remarkable person he had ever met.
