Wagner, Charles Henry

Banker, born in Illinois, June 19 1867. Son of Hiram and Diantha A McMullin Wagner. Educated in grammar school Hollister Calif., married in Templeton Calif. Aug 21 1889 to Edith G. Hawkins. Worked in a grocery store at age of 17 and at the age of 20 was made manager of the grocery department of Cox & Richards, and in 1889 bought in firm which became Cox & Wagner. Remained in mercantile business until 1902 when he gave it up to become cashier and manager of Farmers & Merchants Bank of Hollister (now First National Bank) and Hollister Savings Bank, which position he still holds. Director of Hollister Storage Co and Hollister Creamery Co. City treasurer of Hollister for 13 years. Address Hollister.
