About Charles Williams
{geni:about_me} Charles Williams (1820-1869) m. Andromache Lavin
Charles immigrated to Durban in 1850 aboard the Minerva, which sank in Durban harbour. Charles sailed with his wife, daughter, nephew, and possibly another relative
There is apparently a 20 page estate file for him in the Pietermaritzburg archives.
The Williams married into the Lavins at least three times. Most of the Lavins in South Africa are likely relatives.
One of the Lavins was the Prime Minister of Rhodesia's secretary.
I don't know where Charles Williams was born yet, there is a possible baptism in 1820 in Teignmouth. The original will list his father's occupation which would be proof of whether or not this is a match.
Many thanks to Rick Williams for his assistance.
