About Charlotte Price
Charlotte "Lottie" Price was born in Conneticut in late 1846 as the 6th child to Daniel Prindle and Mary L. Giddings Prindle. In her infancy her family moved to the Byron Township in Kent Co. Michigan. Two of her brothers, William and John, served in the civil war as well as her future husband, Thomas C. Price. She married Thomas at the age of 25 in neighboring Allegan County, Michigan. For a short time they remained in Allegan County but by 1878 were living in Grand Rapids, Michigan where Thomas worked as a "Laborer." She gave birth to 7 known children, at least 4 of whom survived to adulthood (Jennie (b. 1873) does not appear in the 1880 or any subsequent census, George's fate is unknown, and Grant died at 3 months of cholera in 1885). Charlotte became a widow after her husbands death in 1907 and sometime after 1910 moved to Orange County, California with her two youngest daughters, Birdie and Floy. She lived with Floy until around 1916, when for an unknown reason, she returned to Grand Rapids. She died in 1917 in Grand Rapids at the age of 70 and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Michigan.
