Brief overview:

Cheryl (53), a petite woman who was living on a smallholding near Lanseria, died after an attack, due to head and chest wounds, on 9th March 2007. Her attackers were suspected to be waiting for her at her home.

Mrs. Cheryl Mitchell's body was found at home on Friday around 4:00 p.m. Her gardener was reportedly tied up and kept in the house while the robbers ransacked the place of household goods.

The gardener was taken in for questioning by the police shortly afterwards, said Insp. Police spokesperson Paul Ramaloko.

Mitchell lived alone on the smallholding. She had wounds to her head and chest and an autopsy will determine the exact cause of her death. One of the attackers had a revolver with him.
It is not known if Mitchell was shot. She was of small build and probably would not have been able to defend herself against the robbers.
