

Chester B. Collier
May 27, 1910 - Oct. 5, 2006 Chester Burkett Collier, 96, of Anderson, died Oct. 5, 2006, at Countryside Manor in Anderson, following an extended illness. He was born May 27, 1910, in Shirley, Ind., and had lived in Anderson since 1955. Chester was a retired employee of Delco Remy Div. of General Motors. He had been a member of Bethany Christian Church since 1955, and had worked as a Red Coat volunteer at St. John’s Medical Center in Anderson. Survivors include his daughter, Janet Gregory-Trisler and husband David Trisler of Anderson; his son, Robert and wife Loretta Collier of Antioch, Tenn.; brother, Gerald Collier of Greenfield; sister-in-law, Mary Frances Perry of Knightstown; grandchildren, Kimberly and husband Jim Shelton of Kokomo, Jenny and husband Jeff Martin of Tennessee; Jonathan Collier Stationed in Germany with the U.S.A.F., Randy Jackson and Sherry Jackson, both of Indianapolis; Joseph and wife Cathy Jackson of Cadiz, David and wife Melissa Jackson of California; Miriam and husband Rick Storie of Rockford, Ill., and Sarah Jackson of Anderson; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Chester was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Louise (William) Collier; a sister, Gladys Stickler; and two brothers, Gail Collier and Forrest Collier. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, officiated by Bob Bell and Kent Stookey. Burial will take place at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at the South Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Christian Church, 1920 N.
