Chester E Gossard

Chester E Gossard, aged 42, of New Springfield Unity Road, RD 1 , New Springfield, died of leukemia at 10:45 a.m. Sunday in South Side Hospital. Born May 29, 1909 in Ruffsdale, Pa, Mr Gossard was a son of William and Laura Cusan Gossard. He moved to New Springfield from Struthers in 1941 and was a boiler maker employed by the Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. He was a member of Boosters Club of New Springfield, CIO, and the Emanuel Luthern Church of New Springfield. Besides his wife the former Lillian Bezyak, whom he married Oct 31, 1931, he leaves two sons, William Earl and Charles Elmer at home; two daughters, Dorothy Jean of Struthers and Barbara Annie at home; his mother, Mrs L A Whitmore of Canton, a bother Robert E of Provo Utah; and a sister, Mrs Shirley Tolton of Provo. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Friday at the D A Davidson Funeral Home at Struthers where friends may call from 7 to 9 pm Wed and Thursday. 12/24/51 Youngstown Vindicator pg 20

Note - his wife Lillian Bezyak remarried during the 1970s to John Markatan. Lillian died in 2004 - still looking for burial

Daughter Dorothy Jean married a Davis and was living in New Middletown, Mahoning Co Ohio after 2010. Daughter Barbara married William Manypenny and living in Salem or Greenford after 2010.
