Obituary for Chester Vernon Wheeler:
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, Pomme de Terre United Methodist Church, under the direction of Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home, Wheatland; Inurnment: 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Wheeler, 90, Wheatland died Saturday at Sac-Osage Hospital, Osceola. The son of Oscar Allen and Bessie Bradford Wheeler, he was born in Tunas.
He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. He also worked several years as a painter contractor and was a member of the Pomme de Terre United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Wheeler; a son, Chris Wheeler of Grandview; a daughter, Kathi Langlands of Kansas City; five sisters, Virginia West Edgecomb of Buffalo, Marrion Tripp of Raytown, Frankie Ridenour of Neosho, Leona Newberry of Atlanta, Ga., and Leora Wickham of Kansas City; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Josh Langille-Hoppe will officiate during the memorial service. Military honors will be provided by Galmey VFW Post 9638.
