About Chiles Fowler Brown
My Grandfather was a WWI Veteran. As with most veterans he would never discuss the war.
As a patient in the VA hospital in Atlanta GA he begin discussing his duties with the nurses.
They would ask us if the things he talked about were true but we had no Idea. One story he related
to the nurses was riding across France on top of a train car full of mules. He told them he was in
charge of the mules. He was never a man to make up stories so we assume they were true.
He was a farmer and carpenter by trade. He traveled to his jobs by bicycle and when he was
diagnosed with heart dropsy and told to hang up his bicycle up he put two large nails on his porch
wall and hung it up.
Every year at his birthday party he would jump thru a broom stick something I was never able to do
