OBITUARY : VISITATION OF DEATH
CHRISTIAN BITNER, one of Antrim township's oldest and most prominent citizens, died at his home near Shady Grove Saturday morning last at at 7:30 o'clock from paralysis having been sick for a period of but six days.
The deceased was a half brother of our townsman, Mr. D. Y. Bitner and was married to a sister of Mrs. James McPherren and Mrs. George W. Eyler, both of this place.
He is survived by his wife and three children, John, who lives at home; Harry of Chicago and Mrs. Jacob Henneberger of near Greencastle; D. A. Bitner, a half brother and Solomon of Luzerne county, a full brother, survive him.
Funeral services were held at the house Monday morning at ten o'clock, the sermon being preached by Rev. H. S. Cook of the Luthern church, this place. Interment at Green Hill cemetery.
