About Christian Harrison

Christian Cock

Christian Cock was the daughter of John Cock, and was likely born around 1560.[1] Her father was named in the will of her first husband, who left him a gold ring.

She married twice, and had six known children by her first husband and two more by her second.
Christian (Cock) (Gentleman) Harrison died shortly before 3 October 1612 when administration of her estate was granted to her son-in-law Robert Hatchet and her daughter Elizabeth Hatchet alias Gentleman, daughter of Christian.

  • Born: Say 1560 (1558-1564).

The date is a rough estimate based on the fact that her first child was old enough to be married in January 1604, and she was young enough to have had her last child in March 1606.

  • Married: 1st - Thomas Gentleman about 1580 based on the birth of their first child about 1583. They had six known children. Thomas died early in 1599.
  • Married: 2nd - Thomas Harrison on 3 June 1600 in Somerleyton, Suffolk, England.

She and her second husband immigrated to New England along with 8 children. She was last known living on 12 December 1675 in Salem, Massachusetts.
  6. Child Gentleman. Born 1599. Thomas mentioned in his will an unborn child. There is no further record or evidence of this child and presumably died young.

  1. Ellen Harrison. Born say 1604. She was named in the will of John Cock in 1614 along the other children of Christian Cock.
  2. Mary Harrison. Baptized on 18 March 1606 in Southwold. She presumably died before John Cock made his will on 22 May 1614 as she was not named.
