About Christian C Zook

- We (editor) also knew Jacob Zook's father, Christ Zook, and many a mess of apples we got from his orchard and many a drink of cider from his old cider press when he lived at the Zook homestead at the Back Mountain. - On the right side of the John Hazlett farm below Allensville lived Christian Zook... "Mr Zook was fortunate in the selection of his wives for both were excellent women". (1843 history of Allensville) - Christian & Lydia lived on a 205-acre farm at the foot of Chestnut Mountain in Brown Twp, Mifflin Co, PA. The farm was purchased in 1841 for $10,250 from Christian's father, "Long Christ" Zug. The family and those of the seven children were Old Order Amish Mennonites. The six sons remained on farms in Brown Twp, and are buried in the Amish Cemetery near Barrville. (ZkHd p. 200)* Reference: RootsWeb's WorldConnect - SmartCopy: Aug 27 2017, 2:14:22 UTC
