From Rhodesia's Pioneer Women: Christina Gertruida Pienaar (Mrs Hendrik Bekker). Arrived with the Kruger-Bekker Trek in 1894, with her husband Hendrik Johannes Bekker and 5 daughters. Information from Mrs M. Edwards, Chipinga, 27/6/1957. Also p. 160 "Many Treks Made Rhodesia,” by S. P. Olivier.
In 'Many Treks made Rhodesia' the family group is described as "Hennie and Christie Bekker and children: Koot and Annie and Hendrick their son, Soon, Jozua, Dawid Piet, Jan, Pap, Maria Chrissie, Nellie and Isabel". With this use of nicknames it is difficult to ascertain who they all are in the family tree!
