Woman killed in crash on West Green Road, Tottenham A 55-year-old woman has been killed in a hit-and-run crash as she used a pedestrian crossing in north London.
She was knocked down by a car on West Green Road, Tottenham, at about 22:50 BST on Thursday.
Police said the maroon BMW 318 involved was abandoned shortly afterwards in Albany Close, with damage to its front and windscreen.
The woman's family has been informed but her identity has not been released. A post-mortem examination will be held.
The driver of the car has not yet been traced and police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
He was later caught and sentenced to 11 years in prison.
