About Christopher Giles Tester
MR. C. G. TESTER The late Mr. Christopher Giles Tester, of Hataitai, who died in Wellington last Friday, aged 57, claimed descent from the .Duc de Berri. A son of the Duc emigrated to New Zealand, and his granddaughter married Christopher Tester, solicitor; their son was the Christopher Giles Tester now deceased. A sister survives him— Mrs. Major Glanville, of the Salvation Army, Eltham. Mr. Christopher Giles Tester was born in Christchurch in 1879, and came to Wellington about 1898. He worked for the Gear Meat Company, and later for many years for the T. and G. Insurance Company. He was latterly salesman for the Singer Company. The late Mr. Tester was a member of the Court Sir George Grey, A.O.F. He leaves a widow and two sons— Messrs. Harry and Leslie Tester.
