About 'Cissy' Susan Comini
A wedding took place in the Church of Christ in Campbell-Street on Tuesday last, when Mr A. W. Connor united in the bonds of matrimony Mr James Comini, eldest son of Mr D. Comini, of Ravenswood, to Miss Susan (Cissy) Tonkin, youngest daughter of the late Mr Wm. H. Tonkin, of Dingee, The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr John Tonkin, was prettily dressed in lavender crepe de chine, trimmed with white silk and gathered ribbon, and wore the usual wreath and veil and carried a bouquet of wattle blossom. Miss Mary Comini, sister of the bridegroom, was bridesmaid, Mr Peter Comini acted as best man and Mr Jack Comini as groomsman. After the ceremony the party drove to Barker's Creek to the residence of the bridegroom's sister where the wedding tea was laid out. The wedding was quietly conducted on account of a recent death in the bride's family. The young couple are spending their honeymoon in Victoria, and intend to go to Western Australia in a few weeks where their future home is to be.
