About Clad Wallace Best
Clad W. Best, 88, of Duncan died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, in Duncan.
Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Don Grantham Funeral Home Chapel
with Dr. Jack Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Best was born Jan. 25, 1914, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Jerry and Annie
Bass Best.
He married Fern Yount, and she preceded him in death.
Mr. Best was a carpenter, and he loved hunting, fishing and dancing.
Survivors include three nieces, Phylis Stephens and Jean Martin Houtz both
of Duncan, and Ann Scott of Yale; a nephew, Loewen Best of Edmond; two
brothers, Barnard Best of Davenport and Elmo Best of Celeste; two sisters,
Meda Vawn Gaston of Butler and Cornelia Moore of Duncan; and a special
friend, Edith Ferguson of Duncan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Gary Best; and three
sisters, Maurine Pratt, Pauline Best and Ruby Fredrick.
Bearers will be Curtiss Huffaker, Charlie Long, Sanford Isham, David Houtz,
Wes Hamilton and Doewen Best.
