Clair LaVell Steiner, Sr.

LESTER, IA: Clair L. Steiner, Sr., 96, of Lester, IA, formerly of Chillicothe, died 4:40 a.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010 in Tuff Memorial Home, Hills, MN following a brief illness.

He was born July 10, 1913, in Medina County, Michigan to the late Benjamin and Bonnie Woodman Steiner. On July 24, 1932, he married the former Lou Emma Hoylman who died April 14, 2001.

Surviving are sons, Benjamin L. (Stella) Steiner, of Chillicothe, Clyde J. Steiner, of Lincoln, NE and Clair L. (Sally) Steiner, Jr., of Lester, IA; a daughter, Bonnie Steiner, of Gallipolis, OH; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and 2 ½ great great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Steiner.

Prior to his passing, Clair felt very blessed and was proud to have seen five generations of his family living at the same time. He was a retired truck driver for Yellow Transit. Clair was a member of Lodge 39 F&AM, Frankfort, Ohio and the Teamsters Union. Following his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife selling antiques and such at the U.S. South 23 Flea Market and playing poker with his friends from Frankfort.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. David Titler officiating. Burial will follow in Rowland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Ware's where a Masonic Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
