About Clara Block
Clara Block ( ~1859 Missouri-??)
Clara was the daughter of Heinrich aka Henry Block and Sophia. She was recorded in the 1870 census in St. Louis Ward 10 at age 11 with her family.
There was a marriage recorded in St. Louis on May 6, 1874 between Clara Adelheid Sophia Block and Friedrich Linkelmann, page 16-326. I have asked for a copy. Upon receiving the copy, it appears that this was not a Jewish marriage based on the Pastor, and some of his other marriages on the same page of the register. Mostly non-Jewish German names.
Another marriage of a Miss Clara Block of St. Louis and Abraham Block of St. Louis was recorded November 26, 1904, #115965. She would have been 45 years old then.
The list of Jewish burials at Mt. Sinai indicates Two Claras.
There is a Clara Block in row 56, the same row as Jacob Block. She died 3 April 1901. Jacob might be her Uncle the brother of her father, or it could be that Jacob married a Clara himself.
The other "Clara E". died on 8 July, 1872, no row number given.
