•CALVIN CARLTON ADAMS, son of Levi Preston and Ruth (Carlton) Adams. Born in Reading, Vt., Oct. 8, 1813. Prepared for College in Kimball Union Academy. Taught in Alabama and Tennessee, 18441849. Ordained, 1850. Pastor, Congregational church, Fairfield, Vt., 1849-1856; Fremont, Ill., 1856-1867; Elk Horn, Wis., 1867-1868; Ringwood, Ill., 1868-1869; Seward, 1869-1876; Montour, la., 1876-1883. Retired, 1883, with residence at Cedar Falls. Married (1) Emeline Nelson, July 21, 1845.

4. Mary Isabella.

Married (2) Anna (Smith) Miller, March 3,1886. A. B. Died in Cedar Falls, la., Oct. 21, 1906.
