CLARA GERHARD

Mrs. Clara Gerhard, 76, of St. Nazianz, died this morning at the Terrace Nursing Home in Sheboygan following a long illness. Born Feb. 21, 1892, in the Town of Schleswig, she was a daughter of the late John and Barbara (Knier) Anhalt. She was married to Alex Gerhard Oct. 15, 1912, at St. Peter and Paul Church in Kiel. They farmed near St. Nazianz until the death of Mr. Gerhard Nov. 14, 1956, when she moved to St. Nazianz to make her home. She was a member of the St. Gregory Christian Mothers Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors are two sons, Arthur and Norman of St. Nazianz; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert Schworer and Mrs. William Schram of Sheboygan; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Mallach of Manitowoc and Mrs. Lena Altenberger of Sheboygan. She also was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church following brief rites at 8:45 a.m. at Christianson Funeral Home in St. Nazianz. The Rev. Denis Cooney will be celebrant of the requiem high Mass and burial will be in the church cemetery. July 12 – 1962
