Obituary- Grant County Press, Petersburg, West Virginia, Wednesday afternoon, March 28, 1951:

Mrs. Clara E. Hinkle- "Mrs Clara E. Hinkle, 92, died at her home at Milam on March4, 1951, after an illness of two weeks. She was born Feb. 11, 1859, the daughter of the late George W. and Clara E. Simon.

She united with the Brethren church in her early years and attended church regularlly until her health forced het to quit. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Carmal church by Rev. Olen Lantz, Broadway, Va., on Mar. 7. Internment was in the family cemetery on the home place.

She was survived by two sons W. F. Hinkle, Milam; Walter Hinkle, Cissna Park, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. C. B. Davis, Cumberland; Mrs. J. W. Hinkle, Petersburg; Mrs. Frank Davis, at home; Thirty-one grandchildren, seventy-three great grandchildren and twenty-two great great grandchildren. She was the last remaining member of her faamily of seven children. Two brothers and four sister preceded her in death. They were all in their eighties. Those attending the funeral services from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hinkle, Lyda Boyce, Cissna Park, Ill., Mrs. Dessie Hinkle and two sons, Maurice and Kenny, and daughter, Hazel Floyd Davis, Ohio."
